New Online Noncredit Course Teaches How to Protect Money, Credit, Identity
College Auxiliary Services at SUNY Plattsburgh, in partnership with ed2go, has announced the launch of a new online course, "Protect Your Money, Credit, and Identity."
Through it, students can learn to spot costly scams and rip-offs that ruin their credit. They will explore threats like identity theft; Internet and credit card scams; and deceptive sales practices. In addition, they will learn how to slow down or stop a foreclosure and how to end harassing phone calls from debt collectors.
This course is part of a growing catalog of more than 300 instructor-facilitated online
classes. Students have the flexibility to study at their own pace, combined with structure
and support. Plus, the classroom is accessible 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet
connection.
New sessions run every month and last six weeks, with two new lessons being released
weekly for a total of 12. The courses are entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons,
quizzes and assignments. A dedicated professional instructor paces learners, answers
questions, gives feedback and facilitates discussions.
