Corigliano Named Associate Dean at Branch Campus

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (July 2, 2008) - Effective July 1, 2008, Tom Corigliano, director for the SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus at Adirondack Community College, will assume the title and responsibilities of associate dean.

"I am excited about this new opportunity that the college has given me," said Corigliano about his appointment. "I look forward to working with the faculty and staff at the branch campus to continue to grow our programs and serve the students in this area."

In this expanded role, Corigliano will oversee the operation of the SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus including publicity, program promotion and office management. In addition, he will recruit and hire full-time and adjunct faculty in consultation with appropriate Plattsburgh department heads and academic deans. He will also serve as the representative of the academic deans at the Branch Campus. Corigliano will continue to report to the SUNY Plattsburgh provost.

"As director of the SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus, Tom has played a critical role in Plattsburgh's significant success there," said outgoing Provost Robert Golden. "Tom's expanded role will ensure that the branch campus continues to prosper well into the future."

The SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus serves about 350 full- and part-time students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as graduate students in a Certificate of Advanced Studies program. Since being designated as a branch campus last year, students can complete any of the college's bachelor's degree programs and most of its graduate degree programs without traveling to the main campus in Plattsburgh.

Programs of study at the SUNY Plattsburgh Branch Campus include master's programs in curriculum and instruction (childhood and adolescence), literacy (birth-grade 6, grades 5-12), teacher education (childhood and adolescence), liberal studies (leadership); and bachelor's programs in nursing (Online), criminal justice, psychology, management and childhood education; as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in educational leadership.
