Campus Celebrates Faculty, Staff Scholarship
SUNY Plattsburgh’s faculty academic accomplishments were recognized at the annual Celebration of Scholarship reception held in Feinberg Library Nov. 18.
Hundreds of papers, book chapters, performances, journals, books, presentations, creative works and more were produced by faculty and staff during the 2016-2016 academic year and are cited in a 89-page Celebration of Scholarship brochure.
College President John Ettling welcomed a group of about 40 faculty and staff to the reception, noting that this year’s featured scholars are Dr. Anne Bongiorno, associate professor of nursing, Dr. Sam Northshield, professor of mathematics, Dr. mark Richard, professor of history and Canadian studies, and Dr. Kenneth Strang, professor of business and supply chain management at the branch campus in Queensbury.
The Celebration of Scholarship began in the 2002-2003 academic year as a way to recognize research, scholarship and creative works compiled by faculty during the previous year. The materials exhibited at this year’s celebration and listed in the brochure demonstrate the diversity, quality and quantity of the college’s faculty scholarship, Ettling said.
