Alumna on Campus for Book Signing Oct. 3
PLATTSBURGH, NY__ State University of New York College at Plattsburgh alumna Jane
Lawliss Murphy, class of 1958, likes to sing about insects, bugs and squiggly things.
And kids love it, too.
Murphy is a singer, guitarist and composer who has written and recorded five albums of songs for children published by Kimbo Educational. Her poems have won awards and have been published in several poetry quarterlies. Murphy, a Long Island, N.Y. resident, also writes essays that have appeared in the New York Times .
The College Store/Book Nook (Saranac Hall on Rugar Street) at SUNY Plattsburgh will host a book signing of her latest work, Sugar on Snow: Memoir of a Northern New York State Farm Kid , from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3. She will also sing a few songs from her CDs.
