The Faculty Senate is the primary body through which the faculty of SUNY Plattsburgh participate in shared governance. It makes recommendations to the college president regarding any matter affecting the faculty or the college, except those matters exclusive to the labor unions. The Faculty Senate participates in the initiation, development and implementation of the college’s instructional, research and service programs; formulates, reviews and revises all academic policies; and approves new academic programs and revisions to existing academic programs.
