Recreation Staff Assistant
Position open to full-time SUNY Plattsburgh students to assist the recreational sports director. They are responsible for hiring, assignment, supervision and personnel management of all work-study and temporary service recreation employees. In addition, the staff assistants keep recreation statistics, submit payroll, and provide support to college organizations and groups in their sports programming. Students interested in these positions must submit a resume and cover letter to the recreational sports coordinator by April 15 of each year for the following year.
One position is available each year for a full-time SUNY Plattsburgh student to administer the intramural program working closely with the recreation sports coordinator. Individuals should have a strong background in officiating and supervision. He/She is responsible for maintaining a quality and a smooth operation of the program. This includes hiring, training, assigning, supervising officials, submitting payroll biweekly, and working closely with teams to maintain a strong communication system with them. Student coordinator must be available for supervision of games during evening hours. Students interested in this position must submit a resume and cover letter to the recreational sports coordinator by April 15 of each year for the following year.
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
Instructor positions are open to SUNY Plattsburgh students who hold current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer instructor certification. Instructors are responsible for supervising practice and skill testing in the CPR lab and teaching non-credit CPR/AED/First Aid courses for the college community.
Recreation Supervisor (Memorial Hall)
Positions are open to students who are either granted work study through the financial aid office or are temporary service positions for any full time SUNY Plattsburgh student. Applicants must be available for three-hour shifts between 4–11 p.m. weekdays and noon–10 p.m. on weekends. Recreation attendant supervises and enforce building regulations in Memorial Hall, issue equipment and will be required to be trained in Adult CPR/AED and first aid. Positions are open to SUNY Plattsburgh students who have the sports expertise and maturity to work with intramural sports participants. Looking for them to provide direction in a firm, fair and friendly manner and have knowledge of the rules. Officials are expected to work closely with the intramural coordinator to provide a quality intramural program.
Summer Recreation Staff
Each summer 1–2 individuals are hired to supervise Memorial Hall, issue bikes and various equipment. Must have current first aid and CPR certifications. Must be available between 4–9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
