Bike Rental Program
This program allows SUNY Plattsburgh students to borrow a bike for a day, free of charge. Bikes may be used for personal transportation or recreation. Bike trails are located on campus and a trail map is available.
- Bike issue: 9/6 – 10/8/2021 — Visit Memorial Hall 304 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon (return by 9 p.m. same day)
- Through summer, bikes will be issued on a weekly basis, Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
What Equipment Do We Have?
The recreation department has created a bike storage room on the top floor of Memorial Hall complete with bike racks and size charts. Our fleet currently contains:
- 15 mountain bikes
- 5 single-speed cruisers
- 20 locks
- 20 helmets
The bike program issues bicycles of varying sizes (extra small, small, medium and large), according to the student’s height. A bike lock with a set code will be given upon bike issue. The option of renting a helmet is available, but not required.
Bikes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Who is Eligible?
Currently enrolled full-time undergraduate and graduate students at SUNY Plattsburgh. This program is not open to the general public.
How Do I Get a Bike?
It’s easy! Just visit the bike room on the top floor of Memorial Hall and ask the staff to help you. There are no requirements, besides a valid college ID card.
For spring and fall, bikes must be returned on the same the day that you receive the bike. A late fee of $10 will be applied if the bike is late. During the summer, bikes are issued on a weekly basis, and must be returned each week for inspection.
Students are responsible for any damage while the bike is in their care. Fees will be charged if damage exists above normal wear and tear.
