Dr. Kathryn Alton
Assistant Professor of Childhood Education
Kathryn Alton, Ed.D., is an assistant professor of childhood education at SUNY Plattsburgh. Her teaching and research focus on the Science of Reading, teacher candidate self-efficacy and belonging, and equitable pathways into the teaching profession. She partners closely with P-12 schools to strengthen early field experiences, literacy preparation, and mentoring networks that support diverse teacher candidates in their development.
