Professor of International Business & Strategic Management
Dr. Elie Chrysostome is Professor of International Business and Strategic Management
at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh and Founding Director of
CEDIMES Institute USA (Centre for Research in International Business, Economics and
Entrepreneurship). He was the chair of the division of International Business of the
Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC). He is also the chair of the
International Conference of CEDIMES Institute USA and the chair of the International
Workshop of Ivey Business School Case Teaching in West Africa.
Dr. Elie Chrysostome is a research associate at the Strategy and Society Chair of
Management of HEC-Montreal (Canada) and at the Montreal Local Global Research Group
at the John Molson School of Business of Concordia University at Montreal (Canada).
He is also a research associate of SOAS at University of London (UK) and advisor at
The Cambridge Learning Gateway of the University of Cambridge (UK). He taught at Laval
University and at University of Moncton in Canada and was invited speaker or visiting
scholar at several leading business schools including Thunderbird School of Global
Management (Arizona, USA), Haute Ecole de Gestion de Fribourg (Fribourg, Switzerland),
HEC-Montreal (Canada), Laval University (Quebec, Canada), Universite Paris-Dauphine,
Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland) and Alfred Nobel University (Ukraine).
His research works have focused on issues related to International Joint-Ventures
and Strategic Alliances, internationalization of small businesses and international
entrepreneurship with a particular interest for diaspora and immigrant entrepreneurship,
capacity building in developing countries. He supervised, co-supervised or served
as external examiner of many graduate student dissertations including Ph.D. students
from prestigious universities such as Ivey Business School, John Molson Business School
of Concordia University and Laval University in Canada. He’s author and co-author
of more than 40 publications in academic journals of International Business and Management
including Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, Transnational Corporations Review, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Competitiveness, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, International Journal of Economic Policy in Emerging Countries, International Journal of Economics and Business Research. His most recent book (edited) is entitled: Capacity Building in Emerging and Developing Countries: From a Mindset Transformation
to Entrepreneurship and Diaspora Involvement. He also edited Building Businesses in Emerging and Developing Countries: Challenges and Opportunities with Dr. Rick Molz of John Molson School of Business of Concordia University (Canada).
He has served on the editorial board of several well-known international journals
of international business and management and is a member of Academy of International
Business and Academy of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Administration Sciences with
specialization in International Strategic Management from Laval University in Canada.
