You will develop the ability to:

Students must earn a minimum grade of C in two French courses. The final level (Foundational, Intermediate, or Advanced) is based on demonstrated proficiency.
What is Unique About Our Program?
Designed for flexibility, accessibility and real-world impact, this microcredential builds short-term study abroad directly into the program, allowing you to gain immersive international experience without committing to a full semester away.
It complements majors such as education, history, international business, hospitality management, and Canadian and Québec studies. It may also contribute toward completion of the French minor and fulfills the Human Communities category of the Cardinal Core Curriculum.
What Are My Career Opportunities?
You will build practical, career-ready skills that are valuable in today’s global and cross-border workforce. You will strengthen your ability to communicate in French, navigate cultural differences and engage effectively with diverse communities — key assets in a region closely connected to French-speaking Canada.
These skills support careers in education, business, hospitality, public service and international fields, while also contributing toward longer programs such as a French minor.
