SUNY Plattsburgh Student Association (SA)

At SUNY Plattsburgh our students have a voice — a real voice — one that truly matters.

With an annual budget of over $1 million, the Student Association (SA) plans events, sponsors clubs and organizations, advocates for students and is a true partner with the college. As a student, you are automatically a member, but why not run for an office — it’s one of the best campus leadership positions at the college. Talk about setting you up for success!

So Much More Than Just Clubs

As the SUNY Plattsburgh student government, the SA is part of the decision making process at the college. That’s the Plattsburgh way, simply put.

All students pay a Student Association fee that funds all the clubs and organizations, supports tutoring services, a student shuttle bus, a small-loan service, student travel for conferences, vacation bus subsidies, student activities, concerts and more. In addition, the SA purchases artwork and sponsors the Student Association Memorial Scholarship. The SA advocates for students concerns and participates in the governance of the college — and the college listens. SUNY Plattsburgh is what is in large part to the SA.

As a student you can participate in any of the organizations and activities sponsored by the SA, but if you don’t find something you’re interested in, come into the SA office (on the first floor of the Angell College Center) and find out how to start your own new club or organization.

Leadership

The SA leadership is comprised of an Executive Council, Student Senate, SA Court and committees.
