Tim Hortons Campus Store Opens at SUNY Plattsburgh


PLATTSBURGH, NY (Sept. 29, 2008) - Tim Hortons will officially open for business at SUNY Plattsburgh on Friday, Oct. 3, making it only the second campus-based store in the United States for the popular Canadian chain.A reception will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 at the site of the new store, located on the second level of the Angell College Center at SUNY Plattsburgh. At 9 a.m., representatives from the college and Tim Hortons will participate in a short program before a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official grand opening of the store.

SUNY Plattsburgh President John Ettling noted the excitement surrounding the arrival of Tim Hortons on campus.

"It's a great partnership and is an example of how we are working to offer our students a wide range of sensible choices when it comes to convenient, quality food service at SUNY Plattsburgh. Tim Hortons is a perfect fit toward that goal."

The SUNY Plattsburgh Tim Hortons will be open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The location will serve Tim Hortons' full menu, consisting of homestyle soups and sandwiches, fresh baked goods, and a complete beverage lineup including Tim Hortons premium blend coffee, served 20 minutes fresh or not served at all.

Expected to participate in the remarks during the ceremony include: President Ettling, David Clanachan Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons, and Student Association President Angel Acosta. Also on hand from the college will be Vice President for Student Affairs William Laundry, College Auxilliary Services Board President Gordon Muir, and Chartwell's Regional Manager Ralph Lembo.

Tim Hortons is the fourth largest publicly-traded quick service restaurant chain in North America based on market capitalization, and the largest in Canada.
