SUNY Plattsburgh’s Up 'til Dawn Chapter Gets State-Wide Recognition
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2010) —SUNY Plattsburgh students will host their annual Up 'til Dawn fundraiser from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Nov. 13 in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
Under this program last year, SUNY Plattsburgh students raised $32,500 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital -- more money than any other school in the state of New York.
This year, students are hoping to raise $40,000 to contribute to this lifesaving philanthropy.
Sarah Crum, executive director of the college’s Up 'til Dawn Chapter, said “We’re excited for year’s event, and we’re trying our best to achieve our goal. If we can help save at least one child’s life, I’d say we’ve done our job.”
About Up 'til Dawn
Up 'til Dawn is a nationally recognized fundraiser dedicated to raising money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event raises money by getting attendees to send letters to friends and families asking for donations. All proceeds go toward the operation of the daily research and treatment at the hospital that provides care to children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. This year, St. Jude was ranked the nation’s number one trusted charity.
