SUNY Plattsburgh to Co-Host Business Plan Competition


The Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department at SUNY Plattsburgh will be teaming up with Clarkson University's Reh Center for Entrepreneurship to host the North Country Regional Business Plan Competition at Clarkson University's Student Center March 29.

The contest is open to all students who are enrolled in North Country colleges or universities during the current academic year.

The top teams from each of the 10 regional competitions will be awarded $20,000 in funding and will be invited to compete for the grand prize at the statewide 2013 New York Business Plan Competition April 26 in Albany, N.Y.

In all, more than 300 student-led teams are expected to compete in the regional and statewide competitions for more than $225,000 in available funding.

Students will be able to choose from the following six ventures:

- Biotechnology-/-Healthcare.
- Energy-/-Sustainability.
- Information Technology-/-Software.
- Nanotechnology-/-Advanced Technology.
- Products-/-Services.
- Social Entrepreneurship-/-Non-Profit.
