SUNY Plattsburgh Ranked Among America's Best Small Town Colleges

SUNY Plattsburgh has been ranked among America’s best small town colleges by BestColleges.com.

The website cited the college’s surroundings, affordability, recreational facilities and more.

“Our unique location in the Champlain Valley provides our students, faculty and staff access to exciting world-class opportunities,” said Bryan Hartman, vice president for student affairs. “The varied experiences at our finger tips, within an hour’s drive, can satisfy anyone’s sense of adventure.”

Hartman said the variety in and around campus, from urban Montreal and downtown Plattsburgh to the Adirondack wilderness and Lake Placid’s Olympic venues, attract students with a wide range of interests.

To produce the rankings, BestColleges.com considered published data on the college’s acceptance, retention, graduation and enrollment rates. The list includes 50 schools.

“The placement on this list is a great recognition of the efforts that our student organizations, our teaching faculty and the college in general puts toward fully engaging our environment,” Hartman said.
