SUNY Plattsburgh Marketing Student Selected for National Program
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (June 22, 2010) -- Lisa LaFountain, a senior marketing major in SUNY Plattsburgh's School of Business and Economics, has been selected to receive a scholarship to attend the Direct Marketing Education Foundation's 2010 Interactive Marketing Immersion Program in Columbia, M.D.
The program, which runs Aug. 2-6, accepts only 30 students from across the country
to attend each year and covers topics such as interactive marketing communications,
digital display advertising, e-mail marketing, mobile marketing trends, and social
media marketing. The students also work on an interactive marketing case study, participate
in team-building activities, and make group project presentations. Program sessions
will take place at the corporate headquarters of Merkle, a large customer-relationship
marketing agency and sponsor of the program.
"Lisa LaFountain is one of our best marketing students, and her work experience and
career interests made her a perfect choice for this program," said Dr. Nancy Church,
chair of SUNY Plattsburgh's marketing and entrepreneurship department.
