Summer Youth Sports Camps, Clinics Scheduled


Basketball, soccer and hockey campus for youngsters will be hosted by SUNY Plattsburgh teams this summer, beginning with boys’ basketball an girls and boys soccer June 25-29.

The Cardinal men’s basketball team will host its annual TC Skills Boys Basketball Camp at Memorial Hall for children ages 8 to 17. Camp runs 9 a.m. to noon with members of the coaching staff and current student-athletes providing instruction. Camp fee is $125 with a $50 deposit due at time of registration.

Also during that week, the Cardinal women’s soccer team will host an intensive striker and goaltender camp for boys and girls, ages nine to 13 and 14 to 19 at the Field House. Sessions run each day from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for ages nine to 13; 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 14 to 19. Campers will receive specialized training for players looking to improve their skills. Cost for camp is:

• $90 for children 9-13 by June 10; $110 after June 10
• $110 for children 14-19 by June 10; $120 after June 10

The Cardinal women’s basketball team will host its annual Cardinal Hoop Camp for girls ages 8 to 17 daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Memorial Hall July 9-13. Girls will learn fundamental skills and play basketball.

Camp fees are $140 for first-time campers; $120 for returning campers and will be taught by coaches and current student-athletes. For more information, contact Coach Cheryl Cole, 518-564-4147 or email [email protected].

And the championship Cardinal women’s ice hockey team will host a clinic Aug. 6-9 for advanced players and a hockey camp Aug. 13-16. Both will be held at the Ameri-Can North Sports Center in Plattsburgh.

Girls hockey camp is designed for girl players striving to advance and develop their skill level. The cost is $250 per player and 225 for goalie. Admission is capped at 50 players and four goalies.

The clinic is designed for the advanced female hockey player striving to enhance their skill level. Cost is $200 for players and $175 for goalies. Spots are limited to 50 players and four goalies.
