Summer Just got Better at SUNY Plattsburgh

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Students will get what they always wanted this summer at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh:  Guaranteed courses.  Barring any unforeseen circumstances, all summer courses will be offered, provided the course has at least one student enrolled.

Students will not have to worry about last minute course cancellations as they did in the past. They can plan their summers with the assurance that Summer Session courses will be available - a guarantee that most colleges don't offer.

The College made this change to better serve students and help ensure that Summer Session remains a viable and integral part of the academic offerings.

This Summer Session will also feature more than 50 on-line courses. This increase in on-line courses makes it more convenient for students to obtain credits from SUNY Plattsburgh if they return to their hometowns, work full-time or travel throughout the summer.

Students can catch up, get ahead or improve their grade point average with more than 200 guaranteed courses.  Summer Session registration began April 2 and continues until courses begin.

There are three convenient summer sessions:

Session A: May 22 - June 2
This two-week intensive session permits students to complete up to three-credit hours by the beginning of June. It's a great session for students who want to take a course during Summer Session, but have to return to their hometown for the remainder of the summer or work a full-time job.

Session B: June 5 - July 7
This session allows students to finish one or more courses before mid-summer. The majority of SUNY Plattsburgh's course offerings take place during Session B.

Session C: July 10 - August 11
This session accommodates students who prefer mid-summer study, especially working teachers who are taking graduate courses.
