School of Business and Economics Students Compete to Win Cash in College's Game Show
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Borrowing the format of the famous "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"
game show, the School of Business and Economics at the State University of New York
College at Plattsburgh is providing an opportunity for graduating students to win
money to help them begin their careers after college.
Business students who are planning to graduate in December and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher are eligible to compete and win cash prizes of up to $2,648.25 by playing "Who Wants to be a Graduate?" (The total cash prize of up to $2,648.25 is the amount of New York State tuition and mandatory fees for one graduate semester at a SUNY institution.)
The event, held every Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the Mowry Conference Room, Redcay Hall, features accounting, economics, finance, marketing and business questions written by SBE faculty members. Students are given three "lifelines" - phone a friend, 50-50 and ask the audience - to assist with answering the questions.
Citizens Bank is sponsoring the Graduate game show, which was created by the SBE Student
Advisory Council. Citizens Banks has also committed to sponsoring the Graduate game
show next semester for May graduates. Faculty members emcee the contest, and Dr. Colin
Read, dean of SBE, will be the emcee on Thursday, Nov. 10. Spectators are always welcome.
