Reminder: Graduate Study Application Deadline for the Spring 2012 Semester Is Saturday, Oct. 15


The deadline to apply to SUNY Plattsburgh for graduate study this spring is Oct. 15.

Degree programs accepting applicants for spring 2012 are as follows:

- Mental Health Counseling (M.S.)
- School Counseling (M.S.Ed. and C.A.S.)
- Student Affairs Counseling (M.S.)
- Leadership (M.S.)
- Natural Science (M.S.)
- Professional Science Master’s in Environmental Science (M.S.)
- Literacy (M.S.Ed.), Special Education (M.S.Ed.)
- Educational Leadership (C.A.S.).

The M.S. in Leadership and the C.A.S. in Educational Leadership are also available at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Branch Campus, located in Queensbury, N.Y.

Each graduate degree program has its own entrance requirements. You are encouraged to contact the graduate degree program director/coordinator or go to the SUNY Plattsburgh webpage about that graduate degree program in order to learn about specific requirements, including prerequisites, interview days and entrance exams like the Graduate Record Exam or Miller Analogies Test.

All applicants for graduate study at SUNY Plattsburgh must submit a completed application form, a statement of purpose, $75 application fee, three letters of recommendation, a resume and official undergraduate and/or graduate transcripts.

Students whose native language is not English must submit official documentation of their Test of English as a Foreign Language or TOEFL score; the required score is 550 or above (paper-based) or 79-80 or above (internet-based). International applicants must provide official bank documentation of financial support, showing the specific amount in U.S. dollars available to finance their educational and living expenses. Current total expenses are approximately $25,000 per year.
