Relay for Life Breaks Fundraising Goals
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (April 7, 2010) – SUNY Plattsburgh’s fourth annual Relay for Life this March raised $47,000 for the American Cancer Society.
The Mardi Gras-themed event was sponsored by the Colleges Against Cancer Committee,
and, according to event organizers, it proved to be a great success with more than
900 people in attendance throughout the night. In fact, it shattered the $45,000 goal
set by those organizers.
Among the top donors were SUNY Plattsburgh’s Rugby Clubs, raising $2,070, and SUNY
Plattsburgh’s Kickline, which contributed $1,675 to the cause.
“With events and performances all night, there was enough to keep me busy,” said one
attendee.
The night consisted of performances by Cloud 9, SUNY Plattsburgh Dance Corps, and
many other entertaining events.
