Registration for SUNY Plattsburgh Summer Session to Open April 8

This year, SUNY Plattsburgh hopes students “flip out” for summer — summer session that is.

Registration for current students opens April 8 at 10 a.m. and April 14 at the same time for all others. And new this year, students who visit the registrar in Kehoe after signing up for a summer session course will get a pair of limited-edition SUNY Plattsburgh flip-flops while supplies last.

The college offers more than 200 summer courses, with nearly 50 courses offered online — all of which are guaranteed so that students who register will know their class won’t be canceled.

Courses offered run the gamut, from accounting to microbiology, public speaking to the historical geography of the Adirondacks.

The college’s summer offerings are divided into three sessions, with Session A starting May 29 and running through June 8. This two-week intensive session gives students the chance to complete up to three credit hours by the beginning of June. This is ideal for the student who wants to take a summer course but needs to return home or work throughout the summer months.

Session B runs from June 11 through July 13. Students enrolled in classes during this session can finish one or more classes before midsummer. The majority of summer session classes are offered during this time period.

Session C, July 16 through Aug. 17, accommodates those students who prefer taking classes near the end of the summer.
