New Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The State University of New York College at Plattsburgh has named
John Kho its executive director of marketing and public relations.
Kho comes to Plattsburgh from the Chicago area, where he was the vice president and account director for Ad Asylum, a communications agency.
Kho said he was drawn to working in higher education soon after he and his wife, Peggy, began looking at colleges with their son, David, a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
"Colleges make a difference in the lives of students, and I'm excited about playing a part in that," said Kho, a local product who attended Northeastern Clinton Central High School.
Kho earned his bachelor's in communication arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His first professional position was as a staff writer for the Press-Republican in Plattsburgh. He later was a public-relations writer for Penn State University and a trade-journal writer for Credit Union National Association in Madison, Wis.
Kho reports directly to Nancy Dailey, vice president for institutional advancement.
"I'd like to welcome John to the team at SUNY Plattsburgh," said Dailey. "I know that with his strong background in marketing and communications, he'll be an important asset in helping us represent and promote SUNY Plattsburgh and its faculty, students, alumni and programs."
