Ice Cream Social for Plattsburgh State's Neighbors Aug. 5
With the beginning of the fall semester at Plattsburgh State University of New York fast approaching, the College and a local community group are hoping to strengthen campus-community relations.
Members of FAIR or "For All Interested Residents" and senior officials from Plattsburgh State will be gathering for an ice cream social on the front lawn of Hawkins Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. (Rain location is inside Hawkins Hall.) Approximately 50 residents from the Brinkerhoff/Court Street area have been invited along with Mayor Daniel Stewart and Local Ward Counselor Glen Olds.
Dr. Edward Miller, interim vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Plattsburgh State, said that building and maintaining a strong relationship with the College's neighbors is an important priority.
"This is a great opportunity for the College and community to expand their relationship," said Miller. "I'm glad we're working together again to reconnect and re-establish good campus-community relations."
Sodexho Campus Services is sponsoring the event.
