Gospel Choir to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with GospelFest
The Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir will celebrate 20 years of bringing gospel and praise music to the North Country and beyond with its annual GospelFest April 29-May 1.
Beginning 8 p.m. Friday, April 29, the choir will host a dinner and dance featuring Too Deep Entertainment in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center. Tickets, available from choir members or the Great Adirondack Soup Company, 24 Oak St., Plattsburgh, are $30 and benefit the Plattsburgh Gospel Choir Endowment.
On Saturday, April 30, the choir performs at 5 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, Hawkins Hall, with additional performances by the Praise Dance Team and the Step Team. General admission advance tickets are $12 adults and $5 students and are available at the Angell College Center desk; Advance Music Center in Burlington, Vt.; the Great Adirondack Soup Company; North Country Cultural Center for the Arts at 23 Brinkerhoff St., Plattsburgh; and at Wooden Ski and Wheel, Route 9, Plattsburgh. Tickets at the door are $15 adults and $8 students.
The weekend wraps up with a Gospel Choir breakfast, featuring guest speaker Quentin Nichols and musical guests Dr. Learie Nurse and the Plattsburgh State Gospel Choir Praise Team. The event runs from 9 to 11 a.m. in Algonquin Dining Hall. Tickets are $10 and available from choir members or at the door.
