Drs. Adams and Skopp Named Co-Directors of Center for Teaching Effectiveness at SUNY Plattsburgh
PLATTSBURGH, NY __Dr. Kenneth Adams, distinguished teaching professor of earth and
environmental science, and Dr. Douglas Skopp, distinguished teaching professor of
history, have been appointed co-directors of the recently created Center for Teaching
Effectiveness at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.
The purpose of the Center is to design a series of workshops, presentations and discussions focusing on exploration and examination of pedagogical issues and techniques and providing support and opportunities to improve teaching effectiveness.
In addition, an Advisory Council will be formed to assist the co-directors in creating the agenda and to plan and implement the activities of the Center during this initial year. The individuals asked to join this Advisory Council are recognized by their peers and students as distinguished teaching professors, Chancellor's Excellence in Teaching Award recipients and recipients of other teaching awards. Their participation and engagement in helping to create this Center will be critical for its success.
