College Fishing Team Finishes Second Overall
SUNY Plattsburgh sent two fishing teams to compete in the National Guard FLW College Northern Conference Championship.
The team of Port Kent’s Richard Lee and Grand Island’s Chris Benninger landed in second place overall and received $5,000 in prize money. The competition will be televised Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. on the FLW fishing channel.
After Day 1, Lee and Benninger were in third place.
On Day 2, they were able to hold on to that position, which guaranteed them a spot in the Nationals in April 2013.
On Day 3, only the top five teams returned and the local team finished in second place.
