Champy Advertising Awards Celebrates Silver Anniversary Year
The SUNY Plattsburgh Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association is sponsoring the 25th Silver Anniversary Champy Advertising Awards competition. The purpose of the competition is to recognize the high level of creativity demonstrated by local advertisers.
Awards will be given in five categories: radio, television/video, electronic/Web, print (newspaper and magazine) and a miscellaneous category, which includes brochures, direct mail packages, menus, outdoor and other material.
The competition is open to all advertisers in northern New York and Vermont and is being chaired by marketing majors Ruby Hernandez-Torres and Amanda Alberto.
All contest submissions must have run in the media for the first time between Jan., 1 2010, and Dec. 31, 2010. In addition, ads must have been created and developed locally, not by an outside manufacturer or other supplier. There are no limitations on the number of entries per advertiser, advertising agency or advertising medium, but each ad should be accompanied by a separate entry form and an entry fee of $10. All entries must be received by April 18.
Students trained in advertising and marketing will judge all entries. Winners will be announced at the Marketing Association’s year-end banquet May 5.
