Career Night to Provide Networking Opportunities for Students

Students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from a wide range of businesses and organizations during the 38th annual Career Night from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 3, in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center, on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus.

The event emphasizes networking and connecting employers with prospective employees. It also allows for an information exchange and can help students widen their horizons regarding career options.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet face to face with professionals from a wide variety of businesses, non-profits and agencies,” said Barb Barry, a senior counselor in SUNY Plattsburgh’s Career Development Center. “It’s a chance to ask questions and prepare yourself for life after college.”

Employers will offer information on careers, internships and employment opportunities.

Career night is expecting to attract professionals from various fields including law enforcement, health care, media, business and human services.

“Local employers realize that SUNY Plattsburgh students bring wonderful skills and are a great asset,” stated Michelle St. Onge, interim director of the Career Development Center.

Also in attendance will be representatives from several graduate programs. Seniors will have the opportunity to learn more about post-graduate study possibilities in a number of fields.
