Career Fair Provides Networking Opportunities for Students, Employers
Students will have an opportunity to meet with representatives from a wide range of businesses and organizations during the Now-to-Next Career Fair Thursday, April 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Warren Ballrooms, Angell College Center.
The career fair presents an opportunity for both students and employers, according to Dr. Julia Overton-Healy, director of the Center for Career Development.
“Students can apply what they have learned in workshops and one-on-one appointments about presenting themselves to employers. The fair offers a meaningful way to learn about different industries and the related career opportunities. And local and national employers benefit from meeting talented prospective employees from a variety of majors,” Overton-Healy said.
More than 60 employers will have information on full-time opportunities, internships and summer positions. “We expect representatives from business and industry, law enforcement, health care, hospitality, human services, government and more. This year, we are also encouraging employers to select up to three students to attend the employer reception afterward so they can extend the networking,” Overton-Healy said.
The Now-to-Next Career Fair is free and open to SUNY Plattsburgh students and alumni. It costs $40 for businesses and $20 for non-profits. For more information, contact the Center for Career Development at 518-564-2071.
