Campus Traffic Patterns, Parking to Change During Move-In Aug. 26

Traffic on Rugar Street and Sanborn Avenue in the City of Plattsburgh will be temporarily designated as one-way from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 as hundreds of students return to campus for the start of the 2017-2018 academic year.

One way traffic on Rugar Street will begin at Parking Lot 16 — between Memorial and Saranac halls — heading west and return to two-way traffic past Tower Way east of Sibley Hall. Sanborn Avenue will be one-way heading north from Rugar to Park Avenue.

Students moving into residence halls are encouraged to access Rugar at the intersection at Broad Street.

In an effort to minimize parking congestion during move-in day, we ask that campus members not park in parking lots designated as unloading zones. This will allow arriving students to park temporarily in these lots to unload. The following lots will be designated as unloading zones for students moving into residence halls:

Macdonough Hall lots (the lots in front of and beside the building)

Harrington Hall lot (the lots between Harrington and Macdonough and immediately behind Harrington)

Service lot on Sanborn Avenue adjacent to Banks and Adirondack Halls

The faculty/staff lot on Sanborn Avenue and Rugar Street adjacent to Adirondack and Algonquin  halls

Banks Hall parking lot

Campus members who will have their cars parked on campus on Saturday, Aug. 26 are asked to park in those lots away from the residence halls.
