Campus Community Encouraged to #PlattsGive for Giving Tuesday
SUNY Plattsburgh is once again participating in Giving Tuesday with the launch of its annual #PlattsGive campaign Tuesday, Nov. 28.
Giving Tuesday, held every year since 2012 on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, encourages people to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
#PlattsGive events will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 in the Angell College Center. College staff and students will rally the campus community to make a difference by supporting student success with one gift on one day. All are welcome to stop by to participate and learn more. Burghy will be on hand for photos and to hand out free swag.
“#PlattsGive is all about participation, with each and every donation helping to make scholarships, internships, career support and hands-on learning experiences possible for SUNY Plattsburgh students,” said Paula Bachman, associate director of annual giving. “Donors may give to the Plattsburgh College Foundation’s general fund or designate their gifts for a specific department, program or scholarship.”
Bachman said that last year the campaign drew 186 donors, nearly double the participation goal, garnering more than $18,000 in gifts to the college.
“This year’s goal is to inspire 200 people to #PlattsGive by midnight on Giving Tuesday,” Bachman said.
