Campaign to Recognize People Who Make a Difference Underway at SUNY Plattsburgh

A new recognition program has been launched at SUNY Plattsburgh to reward service above and beyond the call of duty.

Called “Cardinals Care: You Made a Difference,” the program is an offshoot of last year’s on-campus civility campaign.

The program encourages students, faculty, staff and administrators to nominate campus community members who have been caught making a difference, helping people out or making others’ lives a little easier, according Gina Doty, college records manager, and Marguerite Adelman, director of graduate admissions —  both members of the  Promote Community Building Committee.

“Everyone likes to feel valued and appreciated,” Doty said. “And some people go beyond what is expected of them in their roles on campus. We’re looking for nominations so we can reward that exceptional service.”

Those who have been nominated will be recognized monthly and a copy of the nomination form will be forwarded to them.

While the program was launched just this month, Adelman said they have already received nomination forms.

For more information, contact Doty at 518-564-5011 or Adelman at 518-564-4725.
