Ayrice Wilson to Give Senior Voice Recital
The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Theater and Music presents Ayrice Wilson in her senior recital, “Musical Poetry & Storytelling,” at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 3, in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall.
The music ranges from the Baroque period to the 20th century, with works by Guiseppe Torelli, W.A. Mozart, Gabriel Fauré and favorites from the Great American Song Book.
Wilson, who is receiving her bachelor’s in music in May, says exploring the art of storytelling in music allows her to delve deeper to vocal studies, to focus on technique and to understand performing and acting better.
“It’s a pleasure as well as a privilege to take the listener on a journey beyond their everyday lives,” she said.
Wilson will be accompanied by Dr. Karen Becker, chair of the music department, on piano.
The concert is free and open to the public.
