Annual Mark Rabin Golf Tourney to Support Student Scholarships

The 9th Annual Mark Rabin Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Wednesday, July 24, at the Westport Country Club.

All proceeds for the tournament — which has been organized by SUNY Plattsburgh’s School of Business and Economics — will support the Plattsburgh College Foundation and the Mark Rabin Memorial Scholarship in Marketing, established through previous tournaments.

Up to 144 players can participate in this four-person scramble, which will feature a putting contest starting at 10 a.m.; a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m.; and dinner and awards at 6:15 pm.

The $49.99 registration fee includes 18 holes of golf; the use of a golf cart; unusual hats and prizes for everyone; and a three-course barbecue buffet dinner.

There will be a $5,000 hole-in-one prize and the Sledgehammer Putting Contest, both sponsored by Shumway Insurance Agency. Other prizes will be given to the top female and male for longest drive, shortest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt and rookie of the year.

Mulligan tickets and 50/50 raffle tickets will be on sale, and the golf course restaurant will be open for lunch if golfers wish to eat before going out.

All tee box sponsors and prize donors will be listed in the tournament program and on the website, which will be updated regularly.

To learn about sponsorships or to receive a registration form, contact tournament director, Dr. Nancy Church, at 518-564-4169, or via email at [email protected].

Registration forms and fees must be received by July 16. They can be mailed to Church at SUNY Plattsburgh, 101 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, N.Y. 12901.
