Admissions Hosts Fall Events for Prospective Students, Transfers
The Office of Admissions is gearing up for a busy fall with open house events, information presentations and more for students considering SUNY Plattsburgh as their school of choice freshman year or for those considering transferring in.
Group sessions are a great way for prospective students to meet others who are looking at SUNY Plattsburgh. Group sessions are held on Mondays, Fridays, select Saturdays and during holidays and school break weeks.
Presentations include academic highlights, student life information, and the admissions process. Students will be able to participate in a question-and-answer session, go on campus tours that show off classrooms, residence halls and more. Prospective students will also have the opportunity to meet one on one with admissions advisers, who can answer more specific questions.
Monday and Friday sessions are held throughout the fall. Select Saturday events are:

School holidays are:
- 10 and 11 (Rosh Hashanah)
- 6 (Election Day)
- 12 (Veteran’s Day
Admissions also holds two open house events in the fall. This year’s open houses are scheduled Saturday, Oct. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 17, both events beginning at 10 a.m. with an admissions presentation highlighting academics, student life, and the admissions process.
Students interested in attending will have the chance to participate in academic break-out sessions with faculty and students for specific program areas. Tours of campus that showcase classrooms, dining facilities, residence halls and more will be given, and a student-service fair will introduce prospective students to programs and activities available.
Students interested in transferring from area community colleges have the opportunity to participate in one of several Instant Decision Days held at Clinton Community, Hudson Valley Community, North Country Community colleges and SUNY Adirondack.
Students can meet one on one with transfer advisers who will answer questions about credit transfers and have SUNY Plattsburgh applications available. Admissions decisions may be made on the spot.
Appointments for Instant Decision Days are held throughout the day in 20-minute intervals and are by registration only.

Hudson Valley Community College
- Thursday, Oct. 11
- Thursday, Nov. 29
North Country Community College
- Appointments held at Saranac Lake campus.
SUNY Adirondack
- Wednesday, Oct. 10
- Wednesday, Nov. 28
Students in New York City and Long Island will also have the opportunity to benefit from admissions presentations in their neck of the woods with regularly held sessions at the SUNY Welcome Center across from Bryant Park in NYC and in Bohemia and Garden City on Long Island.
Students at these sessions will hear about academic and student life, the City of Plattsburgh, transportation options, campus diversity, safety, scholarships, admissions requirements, deadlines and more. All presentations begin at 6 p.m.
Additionally, students can schedule one-on-one meetings with the Long Island admissions adviser to discuss any questions they have about the process. These appointments are held throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in 30-minute increments on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

- Monday, Nov. 12 in Garden City.
