Women's Soccer Receives Ethics Award

The 2011 Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team has earned the Team Ethics Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Eighty-four teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

A total of 66 women’s teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the award. The Cardinals, who finished with a 7-6-3 record, where joined by six other SUNYAC teams on the Silver version of the award (Brockport, Fredonia, Geneseo, New Paltz, Oneonta and Oswego) that is given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards.
