Williams Nets First Career SUNYAC Weekly Honor
FREDONIA, N.Y. (Dec. 14, 2009) -- SUNY Plattsburgh freshman Nate Williams was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference's male indoor track athlete of the week on Monday, for the period ending Sunday. He is the first Cardinals student-athlete, male or female, to receive the award this season.
Williams, of Saranac High School, placed first in the 200-meter dash (23.28 seconds) at the Saint Lawrence Holiday Relays on Saturday, and he qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships in the 4x200m relay in a time of 1 minute and 33.60 seconds (along with Justin Bieber, Brian Drollette and Peter Hamm).
