VENUE CHANGE: Vigil Set for Tonight
Note that the event has been moved inside because of inclement weather.
SUNY Plattsburgh will host a vigil in honor of Kodi Kadeem Beckles — a junior criminal
justice major from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. — tonight at 6 p.m. in the gym at Memorial Hall.
Beckles' body was found near Knight Automotive yesterday after an intensive search by both Plattsburgh City Police and University Police.
An autopsy is being performed. At this time, there is no indication of foul play.
In a statement yesterday, SUNY Plattsburgh President John Ettling said that it was a “sad day on campus."
“No family should ever have to face the death of one so young,” he added.
Counseling for SUNY Plattsburgh students is available at the college’s health center. Psychological services may be reached at 518-564-3086.
