PLATTSBURGH, NY __ Keith Tyo has been named executive assistant to the president at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.

Keith Tyo Tyo will also continue to serve as director of public relations until a search for that position has been completed.

As executive assistant to President John Ettling, Tyo will be responsible for governmental relations and special projects for the president. He will serve on the College's emergency response team, and the Office of Public Relations will continue to report to him.

President Ettling said he asked Tyo to serve as executive assistant because of his knowledge and experience in community and government relations.

"I was impressed with Keith's knowledge and ability to work with everyone on campus and in the community when I came to campus on several visits following my appointment as president by Chancellor King," said Ettling. "I believe he will be instrumental in assisting me on the issues facing Plattsburgh State."

Tyo said he was looking forward to the new position.

"I have enjoyed serving as director of public relations for Plattsburgh State and working with a devoted staff. However, after nearly nine years, I am ready for a new challenge," said Tyo.
