Tony Winning Musical to be Performed on Hartman Theatre Stage
The Tony Award-winning musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” will be performed on the Hartman Theatre stage Thursday, Nov. 2 to Saturday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.
The show is a send-up of the Jazz Age musical with music by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison and book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and begins when a man appears on stage and puts on his favorite cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. That musical comes to life and “The Drowsy Chaperone” begins as the man looks on.
Directed by Laura-Jean Schwartau, adjunct theater lecturer, with Timothy Morningstar, adjunct lecturer in music, as musical director, the show is co-sponsored in part by the Student Association and the theater and music departments.
Tickets are $15 general admission; $12 for faculty, staff, seniors and non-SUNY Plattsburgh students; and $6 for SUNY Plattsburgh students.
Tickets may be purchased at the Angell College Center desk, or at the box office in Myers Fine Arts Building the day of show. For more information call 518-564-2180.
