Theatre Sports Improv Sept. 15 and 16
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Theatre Department at the State University of New York College
at Plattsburgh will host the 7th Annual Theatre Sports Improv Competition on Friday
and Saturday, Sept. 15 and 16, at 8 p.m. in the Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building.
Part of the annual Family Weekend, the audience will witness SUNY Plattsburgh's finest theatre students as they duke it out on stage for the title of best improvisational team. Preliminary eliminations will be completed before Friday's performance.
The competition mimics Drew Carey's hit television show, "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" The student actors will compete on the stage while referees, judges and the audience watch the action. Hold on to your seats because anything goes. Students are given a character to portray or situation to act out only seconds before they must perform in front of the live audience.
Admission is $2 for SUNY Plattsburgh Student Association members and $3 for general admission. Purchase tickets in advance at the Angell College Center Desk, or at the Hartman Theatre Box Office the evenings of the shows. The Box Office opens at 7:15 p.m.
