Theatre Department Presents Theatre Sports

PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Theatre Department at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh presents Theatre Sports, an improv competition, on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. in the Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building.

Plattsburgh State's finest theatre students will compete against alumni from the Theatre Department for the title of "Best Improvisational Team."  If this is your first Theatre Sports experience, you can expect the competition to mimic Drew Carey's hit television show, "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" but done on a stage with referees and judges. Hold on to your seats because anything goes.

Students are given a character to portray or situation to act out only seconds before they perform in front of the live audience. Admission is $2 for Plattsburgh State Student Association members and $3 for general admission. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Angell College Center Information Desk, or at the Hartman Theatre Box Office the evenings of the shows. The box office opens at 7 p.m.

For more information, contact the Theatre Department at 518-564-2180.
