Theater Department Presents 'The Tempest' as its Fall Production

The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Theater present Shakespeare’s tale of discovery, “The Tempest,” on the Hartman Theatre stage Thursday, Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 6 with 7:30 p.m. curtains Thursday-Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Thought to be one of the last plays the Bard wrote alone, the story, set on a remote island, tells the tale of socerer Prospero, rightful Duke of Milan, who plots to restore his daughter, Miranda, to her rightful place using illusion and manipulation. Conjuring up the “tempest,” he is able to lure his brother, Antonio, and the complicit King Alonso of Naples to the island.

Tickets, available at the Angell College desk, are $11 general audience, $9 faculty, staff and seniors, and non-SUNY Plattsburgh students, and $3 for Student Association members. For more information, call 518-564-2180.
