'The Bubble' Next Film Featured in Gender and Women's Studies Series
The Gender and Women’s Studies Film Series presents “The Bubble” Thursday, Dec. 1 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Room 206, Yokum Lecture Hall.
In this 2007 romantic drama, Ashraf, a Palestinian, meets Noam, an Israeli, at a checkpoint station. The pair begin a relationship, and Ashraff moves in illegally with Noam and Noam's roommates, Lulu and Yelli. The hip Tel Aviv neighborhood in which they live insulates them from the ongoing conflict between Arabs and Jews, but their protection cannot last forever.
The film series, free and open to the public, is held in collaboration with the class, “Gender, Sexuality and Politics in the Middle East.”
