SUNY Plattsburgh Theatre Department Presents "Incorruptible"
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Theatre Department at the State University of New York College
at Plattsburgh presents the play, "Incorruptible," Wednesday - Saturday, Nov. 10 -
13 in the Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building at 8 p.m.
"Incorruptible," by Michael Hollinger, is a dark comedy about the dark ages. The monks of St. Foy have problems - they have no money to help the poor, they haven't produced any miracles in 13 years and a second-rate convent in Bernay claims to have the bones of their patron saint.
The one event that could turn it around for them is a visit from the Pope. But how do you get the Pope to visit? The answer: By producing a miracle. The brothers set out to make money to draw the attention of the Pope.
The business they choose is less than holy - they sell the bones of supposed saints through the mail. Then they promise the Pope an Incorruptible, a saint whose body never decays, if he visits the monestary.
Tickets are $2 for SUNY Plattsburgh students; $7 for faculty, staff, seniors and non-SUNY Plattsburgh students; and $10 for general admission. They can be purchased in advance at the Angell College Center Information Desk or at the box office on the nights of the show.
