SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band to Give Concert
The SUNY Plattsburgh Symphonic Band, under the direction of Daniel Gordon, will perform its fall concert Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium, located in Hawkins Hall.
The program will consist of the “Sea Songs” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Prelude and Fugue in G Minor” by J. S. Bach and “First Suite” by Gustav Holst. Also being performed will be “Irish Tune from County Derry” and “Shepherd’s Hey” by Percy Grainger; “An American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli; and “Folk Dances” by Dmitri Shostakovich.
The 30-piece ensemble consists of SUNY Plattsburgh students and community members from the Plattsburgh region.
The concert is free and open to the public.
