SUNY Plattsburgh Music Student Presents Senior Voice Recital
The Department of Music at SUNY Plattsburgh will present Daniel De Cranie-Pierre in his senior recital Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Krinovitz Recital Hall, Hawkins Hall.
De Cranie-Pierre will perform songs and arias ranging from the early Baroque period and to those of the late 20th century. He will perform in Italian, French, German and English repertoire, as well as works by Faurè, Brahms, Vaughan Williams and more. Concluding the recital will be a spiritual piece De Cranie-Pierre dedicates to his mother.
“At the end of every semester, I would be worried that I wouldn’t be able to afford the next, but it was through my mother’s faith that I was able to make it my final semester,” the native of Sangre Grande in Trinidad and Tobago said.
He said he truly believes that he may not have been able to excel the way he did, had he not attended SUNY Plattsburgh.
“Had I not taken a leap of faith, I would not have experienced true happiness. I had to flap my wings twice as hard to stay afloat, but it was worth it. Thank you, SUNY Plattsburgh, for offering me a taste of bliss.” De Cranie-Pierre said.
Dr. Karen Becker, SUNY Plattsburgh associate professor and chair of the music department, will accompany De Cranie-Pierre in the recital.
The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Jo Ellen Miano at 518-564-2472 or [email protected].
