SUNY Plattsburgh Music Department Presents Fall Concerts
PLATTSBURGH, NY __ The Music Department of the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh has lined up a host of fall concerts within the next month. All community members are invited to attend these events.
The annual Choral Fest will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Hawkins Hall. The concert will feature the College Chorale, Cardinal Singers and the Men's Ensemble. Tickets cost $2 for SUNY Plattsburgh students, $5 for faculty, staff, seniors and non-SUNY Plattsburgh students and $8 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Angell College Center Desk or at the door on the evening of the concert.
The Symphonic Band
, under the direction of Herm Matlock, will perform in concert on Friday, Nov. 12.
at 8 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Hawkins Hall. Admission for this concert
is free and open to the public.
The Music Department presents a Blues Concert
on Friday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Hawkins Hall. The
concert will feature the SUNY Plattsburgh Jazz Ensemble and Contemporary Combo, the
Zip City Blues Band and Dave "the Truth" Grippo. Tickets are $2 for SUNY Plattsburgh
students, $3 for faculty, staff and seniors and $5 for the general public. Tickets
are available in advance at the Angell College Center Information Desk or at the door
on the evening of the performance. Both the SUNY Plattsburgh Jazz Ensemble and Contemporary
Combo will perform under the direction of Rick Davies. The Zip City Blues is fronted
by New York City blues musician Jeff Rendinaro. Dave Grippo is the former Phish saxophonist.
Following their show on campus, Zip City and Dave Grippo will be joined by the North
Country Horns for another performance at Hitchcock's Restaurant on Court Street, downtown
Plattsburgh.
