SUNY Plattsburgh Hosts Graduate and Professional School Fair

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Aug. 24, 2009) - Undergraduate students, local professionals and those looking to expand their horizons are invited to attend SUNY Plattsburgh's Graduate and Professional School Fair. The fair will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in SUNY Plattsburgh's Flynt Commons, Angell College Center.

More than 32 colleges and universities offering a variety of graduate programs, including business, communications, education, law, medicine and social work, will participate in this year's event. Participating colleges will provide students with graduate program information, admissions requirements and application packets. SUNY Plattsburgh's Career Development Center will also be available to offer students information and tips on preparing for and applying to graduate schools.

Director of Graduate School Admissions Marguerite Adelman hopes to attract students in all levels of education.

"The earlier you start thinking about graduate school the better," says Adelman. "Understanding the requirements of graduate school can be very helpful while pursuing your undergraduate degree."

Graduate school is required for some fields, like education, and the Graduate and Professional School Fair will be a great way to learn about college offerings in those programs, said Adelman.

Students will have the opportunity to win prizes including MP3 players, flash drives and SUNY Plattsburgh graduate application fee waivers.
